That Big Wheel Thingy

Being put up near JBR, will include 6 pods that are bars! Hope they have enclosed toilets - and some will offer "fine dining" hope they have integrated kitchens cos shoving your "fine dining" in warmed bags just won't cut it.

Still, this could be an interesting idea, once you've done it you've done it though - can't ever see it being anyone's regular bar.

Time Out

And the bar will have to have privacy glass on it so the great unwashed can't see us drinking.

It'll probably be that shrink wrap advertising it like they have on taxis and busses.

Really classy.

It's a very impressive wheel and I'm sure it's been a real engineering challenge for the guys building it.

Owned by Meraas, which is Sheikh Mo's private company, so what do you think?

The engineer or the contractors?

The former, no idea, the latter, no idea but a better idea of where they may stand with what they should get....

Well at least its progressing now after the host of embarrassing issues they had at the start of construction.

Can see it from my gaff - building it pretty quick (2 segments added within the last month since I've been living there!)

What about the 3yrs before that...... they must be waaaay behind schedule.

Putting the segments on will be relatively easy. It's just meccano on a bigger scale.

Not just a big wheel but the biggest wheel in the world, as you would expect in Dubai.

But not a lot to see when you're on it, view of the power station should be good though.
