Best weekend for Dubai?
When I bought my last ticket for Qatar, BKK-DOH return, I found it cheaper to make it a multi-city ticket with the addition of a weekend break in Dubai, saved me about US$150 I think. I can change the dates of the Doha-Dubai and Dubai-Doha flights so I'm trying to guage what might be the best weekend to visit. Needs to be sometime in August but obviously I would like to avoid any mad, hotels fully booked, weekends. Since it seems beer is available everyday I'm thinking Ramadan is not an issue, so when would be the best weekend visit:

Hotels might be cheaper 22-23, I know Grand Habtoor is only 450 a night but Kix put me off it as he said it is a knocking shop, how does he know this I ask? :p

Every hotel in Dubai is a knocking shop, some just knock louder than others.

I haven't seen that much evidence of it if I am totally honest, I have seen women who I thought might be hookers, but then I don't know they could just be girls visiting from Essex :)

I might appreciate some 'knocking!' Not getting a lot of that in Doha and it's a month or more until I can get home for any. Needs must n'all what with the monkey on my back. Er, where would the 'knockees' be then? |

I just looked at the Grand Habtoor Website, it says the prices for the weekend of 22-23 are 765AED++ per night. It looks a nice enough place, probably well worth 450 a night so I'd be interested to know how that can be achieved.
