ok...back too...so here's my report...
the villas are really fab, they are massive, nicely decorated (very simple) and come with a small private pool and garden...ours wasn't overlooked by anyone, which made you feel quite free to do whatever you wanted, lol...
a few guests were bordering on chav...and you had a sense of going from the sublime to the ridiculous, with some fully covered local women swimming in the pool, and then one massive eastern european woman in a tiny, tiny g-string bikini strutting her stuff...
overall, service was a bit crappy...and there's only one decent restaurant there so if you were staying for more than a few days you'd need to go outside i reckon, although the food there was actually really good...
that said, the resort in general looks lovely, the beach is fab, and the sea was just perfect...i'd definitely go again...
MM, xx

Trust me, if she had she wouldn't have said "bordering..."
As it happens, I never left my villa (well apart from breakfast and one trip to RAK to get something from carrefour). Fantastic little villas and we just stayed there and had room service.

Shadya, Jasmine and myself have just returned from a two night stay at Mercure Grand Jabel Hafeet, Al Ain. You cannot beat the mountain-top view. At GBP65 per room per night (via Expedia.co.uk), we paid less than half their advertised rate of Dhs750 for a double room. Its our favourite pool in the UAE too.
