Best mince pies in UAE?
Any ideas on where to find a decent mince pie around here?
So far I've tried:
Lulu - rubbish, which is particularly disappointing as they had really good ones a couple of years ago
Waitrose Heston Blumenthal puff pastry and pine - Had great hopes for these but also pretty rubbish. I wouldn't mind trying his spicy shortcrust ones but Waitrose in Al Reem doesn't have these
Spinneys - OK, but I wouldn't be going back for more
Ikea - Best of the bunch so far (by some margin), though the top pastry section was missing - typical Ikea...
Next up is Costa Coffee which I heard good reports about, or some poncey ones I saw from Vivel patisserie.
Any better ideas?

Jpnes the Grocer? What about Wafi Gourmet?
I hate mince pies so I'm not much use.

We made them. Much better than anything else and piss easy. Tasted almost as good as Kiplings.
Mince Meat in Waitrose Dubai Mall and the pastry. I let the mrs do all the hard work and then decorated the top of them with dicks.

Marks & Spencer have what appears to be a good choice starting from Dhs15 for six in their Christmas Shop at DFC.

We have Mr kiplings here in Megamart. Cant beat them though the £5 price tag slightly more than we would pay at home...............

M&S ones aren't bad but making your own is the best way.
I think Park and Shop had some Mr Kipling ones but they were a bit pricey!

Ugh! You remember my mince pie tasting from last year?
Best ones were from Al Maha (not exactly convenient) and the Bonnington Hotel. Next are M&S.
I swear I had mince pie poisoning after the on-air tasting of 7 mince pies last year. Didn't like them before. Intensely dislike them now.
And here's a statistic for you all. Apparently the average Brit eats 27 mince pies every year.

Does anybody on here eat mince pies not around Christmas?
