It's a Wonderful Life
The Santa Clause
Millions - a lovely Danny Boyle film
Miracle on 34th Street - either
Wizard of Oz - when I was a child it was always shown at Christmas so to me it's a Christmas film
Worst or most annoying Christmas films include the dire Love Actually. I like a romcom but this is twee saccharine overload.

Best, far from it but the ones that let me know it's Christmas are
The great escape
Any old school bond film
Serendipity ( yes I know but the mrs loves it at Xmas and hence I now associate it with Christmas)

Not a Christmas film as such, but The Sound Of Music is often shown then, so it's an association thing......... it has become fashionable to knock it over the years, and frequent telly showings don't help in that respect, but there is no doubt it is one of the all-time great musicals.
Meow mentioned It's A Wonderful Life - absolutely. That is one of THE great films, any time, any genre. End of.
[PS - Fargo isn't a Christmas film, as such, but it's set in a snowy landscape, so it sort of qualifies. Anyway - it's brilliant..........]

I really don't get the whole 'it's a Wonderful Life' phenomena. At home each year my local cinema (licensed as well to dull the pain!) plays said film and mulled wine and mince pies are handed out on entry - it just doesn't do it for me.
On the other hand ....... Deck the Halls with Danny Devito - I love - so bad it's good! Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street and so the list goes on - films always made better with a selection box and /or a tin of Cadburys Roses to hand!
