Default Beirut...

is a great city. I'm sat here on my last night of 5 days here (some work, but mostly a break).

I've always heard good things and had visited for work before, but I gotta say I loved it this time.

It has has an affinity with Barcalona and Istanbul in my mind, great street scenes, underground music, amazing food, mad taxis, quirky and real bars, brilliant people, real history and a sense of edge. Maybe just a Joie de vivre...

I so recommend visiting for a few days if you live in region - so much to do and see from the ancient ruins at Baalbeck and Byblos to brilliant food and drinks in Gameyze...great place.

its easily one of my favourite places in the world to be honest, amazing people (not like the trout pout, fake tits 'ooh I love myself me' girls you get over here), amazing food, great beers and good wines, tremendous clubs and the bars are just brilliant - nothing better than getting wrecked down Germaizie street and spending hours chatting to locals then getting fragged to some club til 5am and wandering the streets off it waving at UN peace keepers with machine guns.

Love it.

That is like, so 1980s. Kabul is the up and coming place now - banging choons in a militarised zone. Dat is wicked no?
