Default Beds - cushions, pillows and sheets - important or not?

I hate scratchy polysester sheets, who wants to sleep in something so nasty. Is this just me, is it a woman thing, do men concern themselves with duvet cover designs and soft, plump bed cushions...........?

Is a bed just for sleeping or more than that - should a bedroom be functional, be a boudoir or a meeting place for all the family or a combination of everything?

A bedroom is a haven away from everyone....it is your place to relax.
Bedding is very important! Nice sheets and covers goes without saying.
Men?....as long as there is a bed that does the job that is all they care about.

yeah, got to be cotton. Feather pillows too, if you're not allergic.

My mum irons all her bedlinen too, which although very nice, I feel is a tad OTT... ok, well, maybe it's just that I don't want to iron anything.

Personally, my missus and I haven't slept with a sheet or duvet covering our bodies since around May 2008. It must be the heat or humidity even with the a/c on. We just like to sleep au naturelle, so long as there are no mozzies or whatever biting us.
