Just reading through 7days and it appears that there is a con going on between some locals and 'possibly' an employee of Barracuda..

I havent done the Barracuda run for ages now, since I get mine delivered, but thought I'd put it up for those that rely on the 'cuda for your supplies of alcohol....

yes I read about this and I have to be honest it really put me off going up there this weekend, so hence no booze in this gaff. Better to be safe than sorry though. We need to apply for a new license once our visa's are sorted out.

was there not a spate of this a couple of years ago. If i recall I think Sharjah police said it was a pile of crap and if anyone tried to stop you to give them a call.
To be fair its what I'd do anyway, the chances of any would be extortionist hanging around after you've callled the cops are probably close to zero

I have heard anecdotal evidence suggesting that the contents of the letters may well be true, so better to be careful. Most likely off-duty cops looking to enhance their income.
