Barking up the wrong tree
Funny letter (again) in 7days
There has been a lot in the papers recently about people wasting police time, dialling 999 for a weather report etc. Last night the security guard and police turned up on my doorstep in Arabian Ranches as one of my neighbours had complained about my dog! Rather than wasting police time with such a banal issue, why on earth didn’t they come over and politely address the problem themselves? Besides, I don’t even own a dog! |
Re: Barking up the wrong tree
I have to admit, I did laugh when I read the last line.
The thing is the Police bring it on themselves here as they try their best to get involved in any minor happening while distancing themselves from things they should be addressing. IMO a more hands off approach would work better over here. |

One of my (male) friends was once banned from a womens specific accommodation block back in England whilst visiting his girlfriend. He was drunk, she threw him out, so he got down on all fours, started barking loudly and then chewed on her doorframe.
Still, it allowed me some fleeting interest. |

Rather like our American neighbour in Jeddah who was always complaining to Security on the compound about the Filipino who had a noisy cockerel. Strangely, the sympathies of the Saudi security were entirely with the Filipino ! And the cockerel !
