Bali - anyone been in January?
I'm looking to take the missus to Bali in January - from looking around the weather should be OK apart from rain - has anyone been to Bali in January (and what was it like)?
I also can't be bothered to book flights/accomodation, just want a package but Emirates Holidays website don't seem to have Bali on there at the moment, any recommendations of other companies to use?
Cheers!

Went to Lombok / Gili Tranwangan in July this year.
Rained a bit, usually ok, but 2 evenings out of 10 were flooded out. Temperature was perfect in general.
We stayed here http://www.villagrasia-lombok.com/ on the very small carless island of Gili Trawangan. We loved it - very chilled out - but certainly not a package type place.
We went Emirates to Singapore, stayed 2 nights there then a Gauruda Air flight direct to Lombok. Gili islands were about 1 hour car and then speedboat.

Having read this climate report though - it looks very wet in Jan!

We had friends who were there last January and they loved it, said heavy rain once or twice a day then really good weather.

If you send me your e-mail address by PM, I will forward it to a Brit who lived in Bali for donkey years and who still visits on a regular basis, primarily to recruit girls for his many Balinese massage parlours here in Dubai. He may be able to give you some useful tips.
