Australian/NZ style coffee in Dubai
Just got back from two brilliant weeks down under. One thing that really stood out was the quality of the coffee. It was amazing. Had a starbucks today and it was bitter nasty stuff. I've been ruined.
Anyone know where to get good Australian / NZ style coffee in Dubai?

It's not bitter the way Italian coffee can be. Think richer, creamier, even fruitier. The flavours stand out more because it's not overwhelmed by the bitterness of the coffee itself. Everywhere I went in NZ and Australia the coffee was excellent. I'm not a coffee snob and I just want a good cup and they were fantastic cups.
I also vaguely remember reading about how Australians had introduced a new style of roasting and preparing coffee. Having tried it I'm a full convert.

Are the Lime Tree Cafe's still around. They were Australian when I was living in Dubai and the only place to get a decent cuppa and carrot cake.

I'm not too snobby, but I don't like starbucks or nero.
Be interested to see if you find some of this Aussie/Kiwi coffee and if it still tastes different.
Never out a bowl? I thought you were a maverick.
Taqado is fantastic. Mistakenly bought a glass coca cola in there once though, just for the novelty. It was obscene - 30 or 50 dizzers or something. The thieves.

I'm a tea drinker - the only way I drink my coffee is with Jameison's Irish Whisky and cream or Bailey's Irish Cream. I think I should have been born in Ireland not Australia.
