I've found Aramco's decision to go public now 'interesting', and I'm not entirely convinced of the likelihood that their shares would prove to be a medium-long term 'safe' growth investment. I'm more inclined to believe this is MbS's way of maximising the families earning potential from SA and a quick way to pay for some of his pipe dreams (Neom etc)..

I work with several Saudi institutional investors, they all received a phone calling them to invest and how much. There is no new money from this IPO, just an internal transfer. So yes, it’s to pay for the some of the pet projects that the locals were not investing in.

When is it being traded on the open market? Is there going to be a window for all the 'volunteer' subscribers to dump the shares in an initial upwards bump before the price has a chance to tank or drop

Trading starts on Dec 11. I expect an initial rise as some Saudi focussed funds will need to buy to balance out their portfolios.

I read a report on Oilprice.com this morning showing how the price could go to almost zero (based on NOPEC), but now when I go back to look for it, it has miraculously disappeared.

EDIT - and now its back :S. https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-G...Next-Year.html

At a cost of zero, I would buy some.
