Occupy Wall Street Protest Goes Viral

http://www2.wspa.com/news/2011/oct/0...al-ar-2522633/

It began last month with a few hundred protesters in New York, but now, the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrations have spread to cities all over the country.

"How are these protests not like the tea party," Jon Stewart joked, "All right some of them smoke and have pants made out of pot. So call them the THC party."

Now it has swelled into a nationwide movement, mostly peaceful, but certainly angry. The protest has gain momentum and spread to tens of thousands of people, from New York to L.A. and dozens of cities in between. The people are angry that they are running second place to profits.

hope they success in their movement .

ag come on Fahd,

you guys dont want disruption in America. Can you imagine the outcry from the Wahabis if they couldnt get their McDonalds, KFC or spares for their Suburbans and Trail Blazers ?

It wouldnt be just a few Shia getting banged up in the Eastern province, the whole country would be up in arms

Saudi is just another state of the USA but with dish dashes

I blame Abdullah Philby. If he hadnt meddled you would be part of the UK and it would be Range Rovers instead of Chevys and pie and chips instead of McD's

That is why the threat from Canada is being taking very seriously by KSA. See http://www.ethicaloil.org/ ;)

The USA already imports a large chunk of their oil from Canada, twice what it imports from KSA. And every dollar increase in the price of oil makes it more attractive to exploit the Canadian deposits, which is a dilemma for the middle east as they need a high oil price to feed their growing economies.

The UK "uprising" was no chav spring, it was just a bunch of idiots who thought they could get a free flat screen TV without consequences. The US occupy Wall Street protest has a chance to make genuine political change, but it is also nothing like the overthrow of murderous dictators seen in this neck of the woods.

I guess the interesting thing is, if this were happening in your country a) you wouldn't read about it to even know it was happening and b) they'd all be locked up by now. Maybe you should think about that before looking for opportunities to draw laughable comparisons.

Again, you show your total ignorance of the facts. The UK has very little reliance on OPEC oil.

UK Oil imports - 2010

Norway 73% (non OPEC)
Russia 7% (non OPEC)
Libya 5%
Nigeria 3%
Other 10%

Hmm, interesting. I never realised how much oil we (Britain) got from Norway.

KSA exports 2010 (CIA Figures, 81% oil):

Japan 14.3%
China 13.1%
US 13%
South Korea 8.8%
India 8.3%
Singapore 4.5%

You're very welcome. We come quite well out of the ridiculously high oil prices! In fact our reserves just keep growing as the high prices make it economical to get oil out of the ground which was not even close 10 years ago (plus technology improves as well of course)..

Give it another few years and I think most of the natural gas consumed in the UK will be coming from Norway as well (if it isn't already)

and Canada has shedloads of natural gas and oil AND we have the advantage of being a. right next to the US and b. not an authoritarian dictatorship with a dodgy religious agenda

you're welcome

But Canada does appear to have lots of bears that want to eat you whereas KSA doesnt

As someone who has a phobia about being eaten by bears; long may KSA export oil and need the likes of me

And yes its Saturday night and the bacardi bottle is empty
