O thats good , you might just need: http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...ckberry-32322/
Short answer is ask you OH to fix it. I don't want to sound presumptuous but women don't usually fix things.

Switched it off (which I had tried before), took the battery and sim out for a couple of mins, then put it back together and turned it on again and hey presto it works. Piece of sh1t, I wish I'd got an iPhone instead...

Re: Anyones Blackberry messenger not working
i got given a blackberry last week from work and it is the biggest piece of crap going.
I totally, utterly, ****** hate it.
Compared to my iphone its a clunky, irritating piece of shite.
It's been thrown across the room twice already (only onto the bed though...I'm not that rebellious)
It's sitting here refusing to send any messages. Cackberry.
Phew feel better now.

Lullabelle,
Sorry to hear about your BB frustrations; I had the same with an iPhone which I gave away!
BB is the best business comms device there is (IMHO) but it is a computer and like all computers (including Apple of which I have several) it needs re-booting now and then. Just yank the battery out (don't turn it off first) for 30 seconds and it will re-start in good shape unless there is something wrong with it.
The 'not-sending' emails sounds like a network problem rather than the BB; if it still wont send after re-booting and you have EDGE or 3G in caps on your home screen top right you need to call ET or Du.

Blackberry's are brilliant for business use. I think iPhone's are for games and those who buy anything released by Apple and a BB for work.
Now I have to decide if the BB ban will actually happen and buy another, or go for a similar type with Nokia or a Google Android phone. Anyone have any experience with those?

I expect they will resolve the issue but who knows?
I've used a couple of Nokias for email etc and they weren't very good - an E90 (big clamshell) and E71 (blackberry-like but slimmer and looks good but useless for typing on). They have some new models coming out.
No idea of Android. Etisalat has a Samsung Galaxy on its list - looks like an iPhone but Android OS - didn't like it much but then I don't like iPhones much either.
Or the new BB Torch - stupid name but looked at one last week and it would be my next BB. Got a physical (slide out) keypad and touch screen - Bold 9000 size-ish.
I'm thinking that even if they ban BB data plans, which is what I expect would happen, you would still have normal internet access which will allow the Gmail app and this does do push mail.

I saw your bribery and raised you blackmail.

I do get the impression though you would have almost built a new battery to prove me wrong.
