I have had various ones for years. They are fine provided you don't let them rule you. It means I can be out & about all day and still keep tabs on my business (especially important when you work for yourself).
Currently have a Blackberry Bold and yes it has maps & stuff on it. Price - just over Dhs 3k, I think. You then get certain packages from Etisalat dependent upon required usage.

Re: anyone got a blackberry?
There are three monthly packages available from Etisalat – an unlimited domestic package at AED 185, an unlimited global package at AED 295, and a limited 3MB per month package at AED 130.
I have the unlimited domestic package at Dhs 185 per month.
Once you have bought your blackberry, you use your SIM card and add some codes for the package you require. I'll pay over the odds when I am away, but I don't travel as much as I did and you can also change packages.
