It gives me a real headache when people cross threads. Can we stay focussed please.
Now, on this thread we are disgusting if TGFKASE shoule be a wanker till it falls off or should women have shoes (I vote no!) or is it that glue is better for you than lager or if you have a featherbed do you still suffer from fowl colds... or am I losing it.

Hi, crivvens you lot must have been bored last night!
I grew up half on Arran, half Pittenweem and was living back on Arran before I moved to Cyprus. Where are you from? How's Dubai treating you? I'm based in Cyprus for now and working in Bahrain for a couple of weeks every month.
Seems all the expats are in Dubai, still as good as it used to be?

Yeah i was bored last night! Hubbie was on a footie night out so i was waiting up for him (sad i know!).
I've never been to Arran before, well i don't think i have but i could easily have been with my parents when i was younger. I'll need to ask my mam.
I'm from Fraserburgh originally but moved to Aberdeen years ago. Hubbie is from Shetland.
Yeah Dubai is fine. Lots of expats! I really like it here, i think it's a ace place but i just miss home too much
Did you stay here before then?
You enjoying Cyprus/Bahrain?

Cyprus is lovely but a bit lonely, most of the expats I've met my own age have kids and want to make friends with other families and talk non stop about kids, shools, the cost of school fees etc, so not got much in common or are much older. I've got nothing against having older friends but they don't tend to have the same interests either. It's getting nice and warm now though and a really good base for the Middle East. My fiancee works in Iraq, so it's fine and hopefully I'll make more friends this year.
As for missing Home... I just try not to think about it! Gulp... you had to mention it... waaaaaa! If it wasn't for the money and the tax breaks I'd never have left but hey ho, got to put a roof over our heads and some dosh away for when we can pack it all in and sail off round the world.
I used to have family in Farserburgh. Agnes & Lachie Campbell and my cousins, Lachie, Colin, Shona and Alison Campbell, ring any bells?

Only been to Bahrain once before but only a flying visit last month and saw nothing but the inside of bordrooms, cars and hotel. My company is expanding Bahrain so I will be over a lot more from now on, at least a week or two every month.

mmm i'm not sure who that is. How old are your cousins? I'm 32.
Yeah i know what you mean. I do have some friends here but one of my good friends got made redundant and left a couple of months ago so i was pretty gutted about that. She was only here for 6 months but we hit it off straight away. She's now renting our house we have at home!
I've never been to Cyprus but i've heard good things about it. We know people in Bahrain but they are trying to get back to Dubai.
