Any info on Yanbu??

Re: Any info on Yanbu??
I thought we might have had a response from the Scottish bloke who was going out there 4 or 5 months ago, Mind he did say he liked diving.
Had a beer with a colleague in the Dilly this afternoon who spent 2 years in Yanbu and funnily enough he also said it was ******* shite. He now lives in Jubail and thinks that place is great with the odd trip to Bahrain SO I havent personally heard anyone who has been to Yanbu who thinks its anything other than shite
Please will someone give us a balanced argument or shall we universally agree that Yanbu is the worst place in the ME
Northbadawi, I wish I could agree with you that Arabs are hospitable. With the exception of the Omanis who are great, I have only met a few other Arab nationals who I could share the time of day with and even then its only until they open up and admit that they want to **** your sister. I have generally found them to be arrogant (Emiratis the worst), Ignorant (Saudis the worst), Spoilt (Kuwaitis the worst) or plain crazy for violence (Bahraini Shias take the biscuit with that honour)
I love the ME all the same, maybe its the sunshine, lack of tax and cheap fags. My 2 year old is making friends with Lebnonys and Iraqis at school so maybe he will have different opinions to me by the time he grows up or perhaps he will just slime up the bathroom with his Brylcream

Re: Any info on Yanbu??
You are probably right about Kuwaitis, albeit the modern Kuwaitis.
I had the misfortune to see them when it went all pear shaped, and the Kuwaitis I met were some of the most genuine , generous and kind people I have ever met.
The current generation are are a bunch of arrogant f-wits though, who think the world belongs to them. < don't!!>

Re: Any info on Yanbu??
OP wanted to hear positives about Yanbu, so here it is.
And one more positive opinion, this time not from Saudi:
Re: Moving to Yanbu.
I am indian origin based in Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah with my family since last 20 years, I have visited United States, Europe and Middle east Countries, to be honest I found Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah is the Finest and Safest city on the Planet. Its is situated on western coast of Red Sea, this is very Planned City designed and managed by Parson's Limited. Complete Royal Commission area covered by strict security, it does't matter if you stay in compound or Royal Commission Area....
-----------------
I just wanted to illustrate that what is shithole for some people, is the paradise for the others. It depends from where the OP belongs to.

Re: Any info on Yanbu??
howdy ma'am,
I was born and raised in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah " royal commission" and I just want you to know it's the safest city in Saudi Arabia. people are so friendly. we have a lot of people from all the world since we have a lot of business down here. however, there is a small problem we have, I ain't know but, it may be big deal for u but 4 us nahh We have a lot of car accident. We have the highest number of accident in the whole world I guess. "I don't know why".. but nowadays, we have a lot of "PD" hang around. there is not much 2 do in yanbu but, we have the most beautiful beach in the west cost " red sea", also not a lot of traffic , one of the best schools in Saudi Arabia and the weather is not bad at all comparing to jeddah or the capital city.. we used to say that we have the 4 seasons in only one day .. in the morning sometimes its so cold come to afternoon it's hot 5pm it's like spring Well, you will love this city and most of all you will live in the "Royal Commission".
Hopefully that's can help.. p.s sorry if you ain't understand my English!!
If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.
