Any HVAC experts?
 
Is there a formula for calculating the air conditioning power required to cool an interior space?

I have a building located in a terrace, 13.5m x 3.7m x 7.5m high with an uninsulated roof. Would 3 x 2hp split AC units be enough?

It's simple, you just need to account for cooling loss through conduction through the walls, roof and floors, cooling loss through doors and windows, heat gain from bulbs, appliances and human inhabitants, solar load through windows, heat capacity of the air and building envelope and output of your HVAC unit.

http://easycalculation.com/weather/ac.php..will give you an idea (basic)

then check the output of the AC unit, the answer is given in BTUs (thermal units) and you can just check versus the rating on the AC unit you have. (never mind the HP figure you quoted, use the AC output rating)

edit to say, looking at your height of roof multiply your answer by 2.5 (as this will only be for a normal height room)

Just add they are British Thermal Units young Weasal Decentral. So often find our free state brothers forget to use the British bit first

I hum God save the queen to myself every time I do a calculation involving British thermal units.
We started calling it the Republic of Ireland quite recently
