I hope that is all they are doing. Knowing the UAE Royal Family's propensity to shoot anything which moves, I just had visions of shooting at their lovely animals.

Are guns legal here? No, seriously - can Mr Average own a rifle or whatever?

Ah I see what you were getting at.

Yes. That side of it is worrying. Otherwise, seems quite positive?

According to the article that is all they are doing. Trying to convince the irresponsible hunters of this region to not kill endangered species.

That is commendable if it's true, and certainly not a cause of worry. Hunting endangered species is illogical and immoral regardless of one's stance on hunting.

To be perfectly honest, my computer was playing silly buggers at the time and all I could see was the headline and photo. Next time I will wait until it's working properly before writing, as only posts rather than threads can be deleted by the original poster I believe.

Those with money tend to hunt further away from home as they've got the money to lease vast tracts of land e.g. http://www.greenprophet.com/2012/08/...-hunting-deal/

Exactly. The article I referenced seems to indicate they're up to it again. It's not the only country where you can get an Etisalat "Welcome to the UAE" signal on your mobile either....
