I read this earlier, it is absolutely ridiculous, locking someone up for a month as they think they might have had sex, I was led to believe that there had to be witnesses for this sort of thing anyway. This place really wants to get their judicial service sorted out to resemble something remotely modern!

Having sex on a first date is always likely to lead to problems....... even in the UK.

I like the suggestion that they are 'friends' now - well, they would be wouldn't they?

The only part of that report that doesn't ring true is:

A spokesman for the British embassy said it was aware of the case. "The consular team are providing assistance," she said.

So in what century were you a teenager or university student or anybody younger than 25 for that matter? From my experience, sex on a first date has never led to problems.
