Another dull day?

It's Thursday? Anyone have something interesting to talk about?

Been an interesting week. Russians in UK, US Secretary of State fired, Stephen Hawkins died. Life goes on.

Every day gets closer to the future, eh?

I take consolation in the fact that I am 71 with multiple chronic and terminal conditions. I may not get to see the End of the World.

There's a saying that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die.

It's absolutely true. It's called your entire life. The end of the world comes to all of us at some point. The great equaliser.

I, oddly enough, am not afraid of death. I've always taken the attitude that when it happens it happens and why be afraid of it. After all, it's not like I have to live with the aftermath ;)

Judging by the ones working with me, not much...and whatever is actually done is wrong!

Wait til it's a reality rather than an abstract, you may have an different opinion.

I know why you say that. I would regret death more if there was an afterlife where you could watch earth as if it was the biggest reality show in the universe (err...it is anyway) and keep track of all the experiences you're missing. As that's unlikely to be the case, the idea that there is nothing sentient after you die tells me there's nothing to fear from death.

I fear other people's deaths more than my own. Contemplating my parents' passing is difficult enough and will be challenging enough when the time comes.

Ken Dodd and Jim Bowen too! The latter being my Sunday tea time telly viewing. I am showing my age here

Trying to think of a scenario involving a tickling stick, a wheelchair and a speedboat. Top Gear perhaps? (I may have stolen this from a Chelsea-supporting friend).
