Another depressing report..........
No idea if there's any truth in it, but a "right-wing think tank" doesn't exactly sound like the purveyor of a balanced viewpoint........

Besides I've read the Quran and some of the Hadiths and the language used there isn't too different really.

Having seen similar stuff in mainstream media until they got politically correct and stopped reporting anything that showed Muslims doing anything a bit naughty this story sounds more than plausible regardless of the source.
Besides I've read the Quran and some of the Hadiths and the language used there isn't too different really.

The Quran says; some of the wrongdoers from the Jews and Christians were turned into Apes and Swine, whether this is literal or metaphoric I do not know. Either way, I do not see it as being offensive, as it refers to people from Millenniums ago.
Yes, some propagate fascism disguised as Islam, but then again any condemnation coming from right wing neo cons is hypocritical to say the least. Have you heard US soldiers talking about Vietnam being a beautiful country that is ruined by its inhuman population? Have you heard/seen footage from Iraq, no Im not talking about the ones were US soldiers are conveniently behind the 'news' reporter playing with little Abdul. All these things are also taught, so my point is any ideology be it Nationalism or Religion can bring about supremacist tendencies. This is usually a sign of ignorance and low self confidence, or a ploy by officials to detract peoples attention from internal problems, eg Saudi being mostly a backward shit hole, when it should have been one of the worlds most advanced nations. Same for the USA, those with fascist tendencies are, typically, from the south and are ones who have caught the short end of the stick when it comes to education and opportunities. Yet who do these people end up hating? Not those that are responsible.

Your statement shows a complete lack of understanding about Islamic history, and your gullibility to the media. If Islam was out to kill all non-Muslims then, considering the power it held over the Middle East, North Africa and Southern Europe, its done a very bad job of it. In-fact Islamic victories and conquest are renowned for the merciful treatment of those defeated or conquered. The foundations for this were set by the Prophet Muhammad who after his first victory against the Makkans did something unheard of at that time; He walked into the city and did not harm a single soul. The norm at the time, and today as-well, would have been for the victorious army to kill all the remaining population or at the very least destroy their will to ever consider taking up arms again, this tactic is often used by todays 'civilised' armies on civilian populations to prevent any future rebellion.

The point I was making was that Jews and Christians did not die out years ago, therefore we still exist and therefore still find this offensive...!!!

I really cannot see why people turn and twist this statement. The Quran doesnt paint Jews and Christians in a particularly good light, Agreed? A simple yes or no will suffice....
Muslims believe the Quran to be the word of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), agreed? A simple yes or no will suffice....
The Quran is the basis for how a Muslim lives, thinks etc, agreed? A simple yes or no will suffice....
So, Muslims must live their life by the words from a book which, shall we say, does not hold Jews and Christians in particularly high regard, agreed? A simple yes or no will suffice....
