American in trouble
Ah... wonder what really happened?
American woman ‘insulted UAE while waiting for taxi at airport’ | The National And one wonders why I have nothing to do with locals or even Arabs in general. |
Re: American in trouble
Was about to post this....
Anyways DXBtoDOH, the problem in this case is that she actually did "nothing", which presumably ticked someone off badly. Step 1) Refuse to talk to or engage with someone 2) Get accused of saying something bad 3) ............. I was verbally abused recently and threatened by someone on the road, but the only reason I did not make "the" call, was because he was very confident that no matter what I accuse him of, he will accuse me of saying something worse... |
Re: American in trouble
That's the thing. Did she really do nothing? It's plausible. But I still find it odd that the police (someone at the airport) would go to the trouble to arrest an American woman. Who would bring the charge against her to persuade the police to make the arrest? I've been here long enough that I have to wonder if there's more to the story than we're being told.

Re: American in trouble
When has anyone had a flight at 1:29am?
|
Re: American in trouble
One of the busiest times to fly, mate. Most US bound flights depart after midnight. I almost always fly to Europe / UK between midnight and 3 AM.
