Hi Folks,

Thought i would start a new thread and introduce myself here as the 'Newbies introduce yourself' thread seems to be waaaaaay of track and full of patter.

Im a 23yr old Oil Worker from Aberdeen Scotland who has a potential job offer working the Middle East reagion and Living in Dubai.

I have no idea what iam doing and havnt got the first idea of what to do when it comes to relocating abroad and im pretty lost.

Hi and welcome DJ,

Its well worth investing in dubai explorer- available in most book shops and have a good read of it and id also come out for a short trip to let youself know what your letting yourself in for!

Put a post up here asking for guidance from some of the oil people ....Commander or TGFKA(or whatever he's called) will help you.
One thing you should know about recruiting/employment process in UAE is that timelines etc are akin to nailing jelly to a wall.
Don't give up your current employ until you have the air tkt in your hand so to speak.

Excellent Kittycat thanks, would that be the best book in your opinion? I will be doing 2 or three work trips first and staying between the 2nd and third whilst bringing out the missus so i can get an idea of the place.
