Alcohol licensing for buisnesses

Google is not my friend on this one...

Does anyone know the rules regarding what types of business or what conditions must be met, for a business in Dubai to be allowed to serve alcohol?

As far as I knew it was restricted to hotels and sporting clubs?

So how does Fibber Magees and The Palladium have a permit to sell alcohol? Are there other examples outside of hotels / sporting clubs?

Perhaps you may have a link to the appropriate law concerning this?

Any info?

Thanks,

Auto

I don't know specifically, but in general, maybe they made a case that they were a private members' club? I understand that's how the restaurants at the DIFC got licensed - through capital Club?

They don't actually have one. They just say they do when asked by the inspector.
