oh, I have no idea...we have a weird house, all open plan downstairs and a huge hall/middlebit that goes up to the roof...one son has his AC on Alaska mode all the time, that's enough for the whole house...my bedroom has to be cold at night, 65/70ish...
I hate the draughty feeling ACs give though...

I am the same, find it freezing cold in the house, and I wear jeans, boots and cardigans, lol...whereas before, 25 would mean bare legs and summerdresses...

The temperature setting is often misleading - older units that employ a bimetallic thermostat will not be more accurate than a couple of degrees. Many buildings are designed with little thought as to the most appropriate position for the sensing elements.

In short, don't trust the number on the dial...

So true, I set my thermostat for 25 C and actual thermometer readings are 28 C.

I seem to be up and down fiddling with my aircon temp but seem to be going from one extreme to another, can anyone tell me what is a comfortable temp during the day and also during the night

Thank you

I can't help thinking that the answer to your question is ... it depends!

But for the bedroom, we set it to freezing during teh day when we are out and then turn it off before bed. That way you get into nice cold sheets but it's nice and warm when you wake up...
