My husband starts in the ME next month and we are excited by the idea. But hopefully we will end up back in Australia. We spent years and thousands to get here but unfortunately the job market here, in his field, hasn't been brilliant.

Pipedream? A year off in a farmhouse in Europe. Husband will finish his MBA, I'll finish my changing career qual, kids will learn italian or french (with the 9/10 year old, the only real worry).

I'm too young to worry about where next yet. If I leave the Middle East the Mrs will want it to be the UK. I'd want it to be somewhere like Hong Kong or the States.

The worse disease I ever got there was a bout of Dengue one time. Most people tend to go the same way as those in the UK; heart, lung, liver, cancer etc.

I spent about 2 years in Malaysia followed by 16 years in Thailand. Now doing some freelance consultancy work in the ME just for the cash, hoping it will last a few years and then back to Thailand for a few odd jobs when it suits but mostly to chill and live it large for the last bit.
