Smile Afghan National Army (ANA)

I've been watching the follow-up series to "Ross Kemp in Afghanistan" called "Ross Kemp return to Afghanistan" and was amazed seeing the ANA fight alongside British troops. The ANA members seemed amazingly brave, often being on the frontlines.

Their styles of fighting is very different to that of the regular army but seems just as effective. Interestingly the ones Ross managed to interview through a translator seemed not only happy that other countries where offering support but said they'd like troops to stay into the future. They truely believe in what they are fighting for and it's inspiring to see such optimism in a country that has suffered so much in the past.

So a to the folk fighting for a country offered a fresh start against a dark past trying to haunt them. I don't think anyone expects miracles of Afghanistan but in it's own way it looks like it already is .

yes it was good to see that he didnt interview the ones who actively tip of the taleban as to the whereabouts of patrols, troop strengths etc, refreshing to see he didnt mention the extreme level of corruptness or wanton brutality that they often exercise on their own people, nice to see he didnt mention the prevalence of ANA members using their authority to kidnap and rape young boys and girls.

I'm not saying that there are not some decent members of the ANA who want their country to be safe and stable but dont for a minute think that the problems of the past have been solved, plenty of ANA ANP etc ARE the problem in Afghanistan

wsn't it better when Taliban was there?

i am not supporting Taliban but it was safer and durgs dealing was eliminated.

the things that Afganistan didn't had during taliban time were very little i assume.

if i had to chose between two situations one of them is Taliban comming back and the other the chaos and death and insecurity that is now .. i would favor Taliban and hope that Taliban it self will change many of their ideas rather than invading them and change them by force .. and then leave a countery in such situation.

Not im my view and, luckily, many of the Afghan people seem to agree. The acid test for this will be in 20 or 30 years when operations can finish and the people have a choice in their future .

...well you wouldn't be posting on the internet for one thing!

...or listening to music, have pictures of human beings (such as your avatar), or terrible things like flying kites, having education (especially for girls)...

Over to you for the good things...............

Eh, as a Muslim I'd rather die than live under Taliban's rules (well not exactly I'll probably flee). Not only they take things to the extreme and beyond, they invent new rules and say this is Shariia. And since when is it allowed in Islam to grow Cockaine and sell it not to mention actually use it lol?
The Taliban are still alive and it will take a lot of Afghanistan to return to what they were before the communists invasion.
