I would like to personally invite everyone to the opening of our new martial arts class on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.

WHERE: The World Black Belts Center, Sheikh Zayed Road (behind House of Cars building near Safestway and Mazaya Centre)
WHEN: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday, January 10, 2009
ADMISSION: FREE to watch!
DRINKS: H20 is on the house!

Open only to men and women 18 years old and above.

What we teach under the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system:
- Surviving Knife attacks
- Surviving Impact weapon attacks
- Real world Street awareness
- Self Defense for Women
- Public Safety and Control
- Multiple Attacker scenarios
- Close Quarter Combat
- Filipino Combat Wrestling (Dumog)
- Weapons of Opportunity

Pity I´m not there. Would have loved to see it.

The Kali stick-fighting is supposed to be top notch my old "Canne" instructor always spoke highly of it.

Bit drastic isn't it?

I mean - teaching people all those fearsome-sounding martial arts just so they can prevent queue-jumpers pushing in at Carrefour...........

Of course that's a drastic approach to that situation. But wasn't there a number of stabbing incidents in the UK for the past years? Mostly done by chavs and arrogant bouncers I assume...

Dubai's in recession ;)...do your class in Abu Dhabi instead - I need to get back into some proper training.

Yes we do full contact stick fighting as well. If you could assemble at least 4 guys on a weekend, I'd be more than willing to travel all the way to Abu Dhabi to teach you guys.

If I ever find three other guys I'll let you know.

Right now I have trouble getting guys to the pub so you might have to wait a while!
