For adrenalin addicts in Dubai - bungee!
As reported in The National this morning you can now bungee jump at the Power Play Soccer Centre on Meydan Road -
http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-n...get-their-rush Although personally jumping into thin air with an elastic band tied around the ankles makes about as much sense as wanting to throw oneself out of an airplane with a bit of silk or whatever strapped to ones back  |

Just think of the guys who will be maintaining this ad doing safety checks and then think if you want to do it in the UAE.

One of the other news articles,
"Abu Dhabi-based owner of Lebanon plans to expand the resort" "The island is off the main Dubai grid, and up until now, in order to maintain daily opening hours, the previous management have had to ship in 10,000 gallons of diesel a month to fuel three generators on the island. In addition, the resort has received 30,000 gallons of water per month for toilets, taps and air conditioning. A ship used to arrive twice a week to bring in supplies and take back sewage for disposal on the mainland. Each chartered journey, as of this time last year, cost around Dh9,500. " I wonder how 30K gallons is enough for even a modest resort. Why not set up a mini desalination plant? What type of Aircon requires water? The ones I had/have discharge water. http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-n...and-the-resort |
