Reading this article it struck me just how stupid some sharia laws are.

eg

BUT

How ridiculously stupid are those "Rules" - esp the last para, if the foster mother can't then anyone else can - including his sister (as she would be).

No wonder the world according to Islam is so screwed up (pardon the pun).

This was also touted by a Saudi imam as a method of allowing drivers to drive the women of a family around without breaking Sharia Law.

SO, some old Saudi bird is gonna let a 40-something old Bangladeshi suckle on the tit so she can go shopping with the girls???

You can breast feed without giving birth to the child. One of those: "Who Knew?" type of facts.

:unsure: Sounds like something promoted by the breastfeeding nazis. Sure breastfeeding is good, but it's not the only way to be a good parent.

the father divorces the wife/mother of child before the child turns 2, and marries another woman who carries his child; or doesn't divorce, and still marries a second wife (in bigamous marriages both wives willingly breastfeed one time or more the other's child as it makes life simpler for them as the child gets older).

remember, even if children are still suckling infants, the father gets custody during a divorce. it's even sadder if the mother is a "foreigner" as after the divorce she loses her sponsor (ex husband) and has to leave the country.
