I quite enjoyed Quest but I wasn't paying and I like my oysters served with dry ice - 1980s TOTP stylee

There's a Maccy D's on the corner of Zayed the First and Mubarak Bin something street, the same block as ADCO.

It is in fact the only place I've ever been where I almost can't go to the loo because the door is too small to get through. I managed it last time but maybe this is something to consider with your client....

Hakkesan, chinese, is great, request a terrace table. It's my favourite place and the wagyu beef starter is incredible, as are the ginger martinis..
Quest, fiddly, asian fusion, is only good if you are doing the set menu but that to me is more of a couple thing.
Scotts, hideous. Lighting is terrible, too bright, a lunch time place only.
Brasserie Angelique is the prettiest restaurant in AD, and the food is very good. Cassoulet, fondue, steak tartare etc
Zuma, japanese, has just opened on Maryah island at the Galleria. We went on a freebie, and you'd want to. Our steak dish was 410dhs! However, it was pretty cool and the food good and the wait staff cool, funky and helpful.
55&5th, grill, at the St regis is in my opinion up the top of the steak restos, again eat outside.
Rhodes is dead.
In the St Regis complex there is a new franchise, Koi, american, asian fusion, which is pretty good. Small and doesn't feel too fancy. Also next to Caramel, which is a late night drinks venue.

Rodeo Grill is hideous because of its venue.

so... after all that, I booked the chinese in Emirates Palace. As we were driving there, the client called and asked to go to Zuma. Yes, there is a Zuma in Abu Dhabi - on sewer island. It was jolly nice.
