AD resturants
Hello,
I need to take a client to a posh restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Now, me and my experiences in Abu Dhabi cannot normally be called as posh. It was going to be Scott's but I don't eat fish to vetoed that. I'm thinking: Rodeo Grill Emirates Palace? Anything good in there? Some Arabic food? YAS Marina? Probably too far Please don't suggest Bice. I hate that place. |
Re: AD resturants
If you're referring to the old Bice in the Hilton, it's now been reincarnated in Etihad Towers and it's very good, much better than in its previous life. Brasserie Angelique and Li Beirut in the same hotel are also excellent and would be good for a client outing. All of these are better than Scotts IMO.
I would avoid Rodeo Grill. The steaks are good the location of the place itself feels like you're eating in a corridor. The best posh restaurant in Abu Dhabi is Bord d'Eau at the Shangri La but that might be a bit too far out of town. I've never eaten there, but the restaurant In Emirates Palace that gets consistently good reports is Hakkasan. |
Re: AD resturants
Quest in Jumeirah Etihad Towers is posh...also Nick Rhodes' 44 (I think that's what it's called?) at new Hyatt on Corniche

Re: AD resturants
Busybody will be inconsolable when she realises she missed this one. If she doesn't know, I'm sure DH could have helped.
I assume most places in St Regis would be good? |
Re: AD resturants
I would highly recommend Rhodes 44 at the St Regis on the corniche. It has the total wow factor, the food is fantastic and the Maitre De has the knowledge of absolutely everything on the menu.

Re: AD resturants
Jeez, moved away from AD 3 years ago now and apart from Bice and Rodeo Grill I haven't heard of any of those hotels/restaurants. Sounds like big changes/improvements in the capital.

Re: AD resturants
Commander you would not believe your eyes were you to come back and check out the dining scene here. Sometimes it's literally too hard to choose where to go. There are so many great options now.
FWIW Millhouse, I hated Quest, apart from the view. Food was overspiced and way overpriced Singaporean style when we went with mediocre service. Ray's Bar is a better choice if you want the wow factor view. |
