Abu Dhabi nightlife
Hi all,
My friend works in AD and will be getting married over there. We're going to have to have his stag do there also. Is this a horrible idea or not? Is there anywhere to drink or is it restricted to hotels etc?
I'm not really sure on the score for AD and drinking etc which is why I am asking here.
cheers for any help

Its okay to get pissed, but if there is ANY sort of incident and it transpires that alcohol was involved, then your into a world of shit.
Your 'friend' works here, is he a resident? does he have a booze license?
**** it go to Beruit, sounds great

wouldnt have a stag night here in AD. Not many places to go and they are quite strict about getting pissed.

Without wanting to give my mate's name he works for the UK govt, so I don't know if that makes a difference - you need a booze licence? I'm sure Lebanon would be good, but it's not an option. He will be working right up til the wedding day, plus I will be going to AD from the UK via the US, so it's already expensive for me. Thanks

The fact he works for the UK government here makes absolutely no difference.

Maybe book a hotel in Dubai for a night, there's a bit more to chose from here, but don't expect to go down the strippers type route...and everything closes at 2, 3 at the latest for clubs...

So, are we stuck with drinking in some hotel bars outside of drinking at his place?

I'm moving to Al Mizhar next week and we're surrounded by locals in massive villas, first thing mrs spugsy said was 'you're going to have to stop coming home hammered and stumbling into the house now', hmmm, only because a while ago the cab driver had to help me into the house.
Not sure the locals would be amused by this behaviour.

But I do realise that British people have a bit of a weird thing going on when it comes to stag nights, like getting pissed beyond belief is the greatest thing on earth...
