And the answer is the number of crashes in the rain. 630 in one day, 330 of which in Dubai. At least the police came out and said that it wasn't due to the poor design of roads (bizarre proposition anyway) but to "careless" driving. I got 1/4 way from Dubai to AD and turned round, scared half-shitless. How can you have a job good enough to afford/be given a decent car yet not have sufficient brainpower to drive with just a bit of caution?
