Re: 610 kg
In the 1995 Rugby World Cup , Jonah Lomu weighed 18 stones.
The article mentions the rescue had to wait 6 months until a specially made bed was flown in from the US to extricate the chap out. Now I'm thinkin why couldn't the Saudis made the bed themselves??

wowzers!
Now I put my hand up and admit I am a fattie, I like food and wine and everything I shouldn't and I don't like the gym, I also gain weight as soon as I look at a cake, however I have abolutely no idea how you get to weigh 610KGs, I mean he obviously has been bed ridden for some time so someone has continued to feed him a huge ammount of calories to maintain that weight. I'm not being funny but if I got so fat I couldn't get out of my bed I hope one of my loved ones would take some action and start helping me and not pass me the bucket of chicken.
I wonder if people who reach this kind of weight can ever recover, I mean how do you even start. I relly do feel for the guy, what a truly meaningless existence.

Re: 610 kg
These stories about hugely fat people fascinate me. I mean, who's feeding them? They can't walk to the shops as they are too huge, so where is the food coming from? What is the motivation of people who are giving it to them?

I see the image of that Saudi porker, and I see Robajob's avatar of a Smart car, and the fact the car is smaller and most likely lighter does make the you wonder what the world is coming to.
As to who fed him, well he probably had some underpaid, frieghtened staff who were too shit scared to point out the obvious, and carried out his commands for another bucket of shit every hour, on the hour 24 hours a day.

Re: 610 kg
Yeah, but who pays for the food? And you get people like that in the UK. On benefits. How do they pay for all that food? Ah, yes. They get Disability Living Allowance as they are so fat. Not benefits-bashing, but FFS...

Re: 610 kg
I know a nurse who related a story of a 400+kg patient they had, who fell to below 200kg after 2 years stay in hospital (he got some friday nights off, etc to socialise) and he genuinely thanked all the staff individually for turning his life around.
In this case, if the King has authorised the treatment and payment then he's done a good thing again. Lots of people are left after initial treatment with masses of skin ending up in Femail whingeing about lack of unaffordable follow up treatment. The guy may have had staff that daren't tell him what's what leading to this situation, but he's sure as.... going to listen to his King on this.
