I believe the rabies shots has more to do with standards of import in the UK, rather than export from Dubai - right?
I don't think the paperwork is checked too close upon exit, as it was seamless when we exported a friends cats at Cargo Village a couple years back.

Deposit - no problem. I kindly reminded the landlord about the contract being registered with DEWA etc cetera and he confirmed it's not an issue.

Yeah. The reason it cost me soo much was because the chap had to drive over 400 miles to reach me as none were available in my state or nearby. He brought along 2 dogs specially trained to snif out missing pets scent. The person was featured on the Disney channel and on regional TV.
Dogs trained to follow human scents are trained to ignore animal scents and dogs trained to follow the scent of pets are trained to ignore human scents.
GPS pet tracking and tracking beacons are available for pet collars, they are quite small.
