Even as a proud Englishman, I'd be the first to admit that the world losing Bob Dylan would have been a bigger disaster than England losing a football match..........

England only won because of home advantage anyway - there were two or three teams that year who were better - particularly a Eusebio-inspired Portugal who were breathtaking.

And Alf Ramsey stubbornly insisted on picking Geoff Hurst instead of the genius Jimmy Greaves - and what good did that do??????

Yes I do. I was listening to the commentary on shortwave radio, no tv at home then, and the bloody BBC interrupted the commentary and said we must have the world news now, and we will resume the football commentary after. (15 mins)

Of course the game ended in that period. Pillocks.
