Default 2014 World Cup

OK......... England will presumably have it a bit tougher tonight (even though they are at home) than they did in Moldova....... 39 of the original England squad have dropped out through injury, so Uncle Roy has called up Luke Littlefeet, a promising 12-year-old who has recently signed 'Associate Schoolboy' forms with Crewe Alexandra............

I say 2-1 to England, which should guarantee they finish 17th in the 'Team of the Year' poll for the Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony.

Meanwhile, with the finals still nearly two years away, Japan have all but qualified already with their 1-0 win v Iraq earlier today, leaving them on 10 points from 4 games...........

Some of these groups in some nations are certainly easier than others.

I'm just impressed the US v Jamaica match is being shown live this time, because it's a home game. The away match last week was shown 3 hours delayed :/

Amongst all the 'overpaid spoilt brats who should learn from our Olympic heroes' stuff, how good/bad were England? (I was following online so I can't comment).

Just saw Defoe's 'goal' on Sky though - didn't seem to be very much wrong with it.

Japan even closer to qualifying than I wrote earlier, after a surprise defeat for Australia.....

Japan, NZ and Mexico are looking to pretty much have qualification already in the bag.

Spoiler:

Wales
are looking like they should save their bus fair as they're looking like they aren't going to qualify already with that goal difference...

Yes, but NZ and Mexico will only qualify for the final qualifying round - Japan will qualify for the main event itself..........

Blimey - an 8-timer??? I'm tempted to say you deserved to lose (pushing your luck) but seven right is good - which were they? Mathematically, isn't that about 71,000/1 (i.e. you have a 1-in-3 chance of getting the result right in each game)?

not really. wanted to just bet on Macedonia at 4/1 as they played well vs Croatia and have Pandev - a very good player.

but got the odds up to 7.6/1 by adding bankers (defeats for Andora, Moldova, Georgia, Lichtenstein, Malta, San Marino etc) which is quite easy on international matchdays.

Lord knows what teams my mate had but 13 teams correct got him 5-1. Spain nearly managed to balls it up for every gambler in the Country.

First rule of football: Northern Ireland are never guaranteed to win anything. Against anyone. Ever.
