Dr's register in St Lucia

My friend is having a baby here in St Lucia, she wants to find a good obstetrician, does anyone know where she can check out qualifications etc. Is there a register of approved doctors on the Island and if so where does she go to find it?

Any tips gratefully appreciated.

Sarah

I hope you find some answers, I'm in a similar position in Grenada.

Hi I have done some research and it seems the Ministry of Health have a list, but you need to go there and ask - not sure if this is the same in Grenada, I am guessing so. Good Luck!

I have used Dr. Peter St. Rose in Castries for gynecological issues but am not sure if he is also an obstetrician. He does share the office space on Church Street with other doctors, so if he is not one, maybe one of the others in his office are. Dr. St. Rose has always been very pleasant, takes time to listen to your problems and charges a fair price. I'm sure I have his phone number somewhere if you would like to contact him. Congratulations and best of luck to your friend!

If no joy there, you could always ask at the RodneyBay Medical centre http://www.rodneybaymedicalcentre.com/index.html and see if they can point you in the right direction.

Good Luck.:fingerscrossed:

I had my baby in St Lucia and went via Tapion Hospital for all my medical appointments. I saw a female Gynecologist/Obstetrician called Dr Nadia Samuel. I found her to be fantastic and would recommend her completely. She saw me throughout my pregnancy and in hospital when I had my son, I can not fault her in any way. She did alot of training in Britain and is based at Tapion Hospital.
Hope this helps.
