I stand by my post. It happened. Most visitors here on Bute are ok but a small minority display the arrogant behaviour you can see on The Costas.

You did not choose a good date to post that. On this date William Wallace was executed in London.

Ah yes Wallace, a mass murderer by our modern standards. Strange the way some people view someone as a hero to their country when in matter of fact Wallace couldn't give a cr-p about Scotland or its people he was only concerned with what he could attain at the cost of anyone of any country.
It would be in most peoples interest if they actually researched the true history of that so called hero of Scotland, don't find your history in cheap yankee remakes with a second rate aussie actor manufacturing British history otherwise you will end up with egg on your face.

Why would you join a discussion forum just to be rude to a load of people you don't know in the slightest? BE isn't Facebook or Twitter - people here chat together, some of us have been doing it for years. This has nothing to do with your views on history, to which you are more than entitled, just an unnecessarily aggressive approach to introducing yourself to new people.
Maybe you could just go out and come in again?

Hysterical posts like the one by SpokeM have the opposite effect to what (s)he intends. It drives more people into our camp !
In the 13th and 14th centuries English kings attempted to occupy and subdue Scotland. The Scots fought back led by Wallace and then by Bruce in a long, bloody guerilla war. The Scots triumphed and drove the English South over The Tweed and The Solway.

I think it's more basic that that Scot, people who crash onto a forum and start mouthing off immediately are seen for exactly what they are. No one gives a shite about the crap they post

If you are a genuine forum member, then please take the time to introduce yourself in the Welcome Inn, and join in the forums properly. Where in the world are you, are you an expat or hoping to become one? If you want to post on contentious subjects, then our Take It Outside forum is the place for that.
Thx.
