Default Renting when going back initially

Does anyone know if paying six months up front with the deposit will secure a rental for someone moving back who has no relatives to stay with and no credit history obviously?

Yes. We had no problem renting a flat on a one year contract with 3 months rent in advance (plus another month as damage deposit).

However we did have a base (family) for the time it took to find it, which was about two weeks. If you've no base at all consider a holiday rental for a month.

Figure six months within daily commuting of London. Three months elsewhere in the UK.
