A one-off Christmas gift

As a 'material nonsense' Christmas gift - what would you give someone as a one-off that they could never discard or ever forget?

Your budget is £5000.00

Spitfire Flights

I was thinking along similar lines (for the former tenant) but that would mean having it to pass on

I'm definitely with you on this one - Spitfire flights for Dad would be a no-brainer; he'd love it, as for DH I'd give him a choice of a trip to the New England States or a nice little "gently used" auto and driving lessons.

So a few "getting even" gifting mentioned including my own.

Does that say something about us?

I originally read that as £500 not £5k. That ups the ante to putting out a contract.

I got a hot air balloon flight for my 18, it was amazing and I'd love to do it again. Henry my dog hates hot air balloons, he thinks they are about to attack, they dont even have to be close, but he has to save me lol

You should do it again. It hasn't changed much in the 21 years since you were 18 ! ;) It's still as peaceful.
The interesting thing is that if you fire the burner at any altitude below 500 feet it does upset dogs. The burner emits a sound which is inaudible to the human ear but is, unfortunately, offensive to our canine friends. That is the most likely reason for Henry's dislike of balloons.

I want to do a Safari one, or maybe desert :) As for Henry, if the balloon is out of sight he is none the wiser, it's when they are visible, he looks right at it growling and barking, it's quite funny, but it has caused him to bust through the fence and run away. Chows are one of the few dogs that 'look up' to see threats and prey.
