Moving back to Blighty
Hi Rollingstones,
I'm interested to hear how your two years went in Phily and how the move back to Blighty has gone (how you've settled). Do you miss the US? Interested for any feedback on being there and your overall opinion of US healthcare, schools, community, basically everything! :) Thanks |
Re: Pet transporter from US to UK?
Honestly I could write a book on our experience! But at this point in time we're still two weeks away from moving back home. We're coming back over the May half term and pulling the kids out of school here two weeks before their summer holiday.
Are you coming out here? |
Re: Pet transporter from US to UK?
I'm based in Canada and have been for 7 years now. We have numerous friends in the suburbs of Phily and although it would be great to have a ready made friend base, there are so many differences between the States and Canada and it worries me that I will struggle to adjust AGAIN. It took me three years to finally say that in Canada (although I still mis the UK and family so so much). We've always liked Philiy and seen lot's of visual similarities and liked the buzz around some of the towns. It's also nicely located in that you can get to New York etc. and I suppose travelling to the UK can be quite affordable. My children are now 8 years and 10 yrs and really have only known Canada. It's tough.

Lets try again. Ask me a specific question and I'll answer in bits ;) |

Re: Moving back to Blighty
Thanks for the reply.
We have now decided to take the leap of faith and my husband will start in September. We have ALOT to do in the meantime. Find an area, affordable property to rent (we're probably keeping out house in Canada for the meantime) and then of course the school or should it be school and find a property? I need to look into registration time frames, how to get the children into a school in September etc. The stress is already setting in! Any advice? |

I'd suggest you ask in the US forums where you'll get loads of good relevant advice, this thread (and forum) are about moving to the UK so may not be the best place for your questions. Best of luck with it. |

Editing my post as just realised you're asking about the US rather than the UK!
