Just realised....
 
It is 10 years this month I have been a member of BE! Wow a lot changes. Joined to get info on our move to Oz. Since then, spent 8 years in Oz and now back in the UK

That was the month I joined - but you are claiming a couple of months earlier than the date shown. :confused:

I'm confused too. I didn't claim anything. But I did ask a question. Do you know?

ETA: Never mind, it seems the answer is 1997.

Sorry, my fault, :o It was VeryStormy that claimed an earlier date.

And I don't have an answer - but Sue would know. She doesn't post very often these days AFAIK, but I will send her a PM and see if she responds.

Thanks, that's an itch scratched. ;) My 1997 guess was based on the BE twitter feed, started in 2009, which says "founded 15 years ago".

Porkies? Or did it start on usernet or whatever it was called?

I think usernet was pre BE. Paul and Sue founded BE as above.
