Instant Coffee - Carte Noire vs L'Or

Instant Coffee - Carte Noire vs L'Or
Back in blighty, I used to drink Master Blend and then Carte Noire instant coffees. I thought they were very acceptable and not far off a decent filter coffee.
On holiday in Greece I used to buy Nescafe which was totally different to the Nescafe in the UK. It's advertised as Classic/Frappe rather than ordinary instant.
It was also very good.
I understand there was some buy out involving coffee makers and that Carte Noire is now L'Or but it's not just a rebrand. I've seen reviews from people who think it's not as good and apparently it's not made with Arabica beans anymore.
I've also read that Lavazza has taken over the brand Carte Noire. It seems their jars have a Laurel Wreath on them.
Do we have anyone who has experienced the taste of these and can confirm that the Lavazza version is the same as the original?
I'm asking because I want to get an instant coffee as a standby. I don't mind paying a bit more for something better than the instants available in Canada - although Taster's Choice isn't that bad.
