Maybe I am too jittery but I can sense a wave of "anti-foreign" in the air. Even "The Telegraph" now says that the Germans are to blame for Brexit !

I am a slow learner with Special Needs. And News get to these remote islands off the West Coast quite slowly.

I have spent much of my life moving around, living and working in foreign parts. I sometimes forget that not everyone has had that experience. I am still shocked when I hear openly racist and xenophobic sentiments.

I have finally arrived back in Scotland.Had 3 flights cancelled directly to Edinburgh or Glasgow,so had to grab one of the last flights out of Spain & nearest to the Scottish border,which was Newcastle! However am back in one piece,I think.Have found I am a complete foreigner in my own country.Like Scot 47,I have moved around quite a bit & miss the interchange with other nationalities.My biggest headache was trying to open a Bank account,felt like I was an alien species.Does the world really stop at the North sea or English Channel??

Opening a bank account in SCO was a major challenge for me 12 years ago when I was preparing to retire to my native land. Trying to explain that I lived in Bulgaria but worked in The Middle East, but had a British passport was a major challenge to bank staff and council employees. They could not "tick the usual boxes" so it was easier to say "NO".

I rarely experienced problems like that in either Bulgaria or Saudi Arabia !
