No, not that one, think that would be the last on anyones list as it's likely to be the one that makes them kick the bucket..

I must admit, for me, these things tend to be a series of things....like a couple of pints and a ploughman's in the pub before going on to a Bristol Rovers match followed by a walk into town for a coffee in Carwardine's when 'proper' coffee was rare and then back home for an early pint and toasted sandwich in the pub with the Green'un football paper....followed by an evening in the pub later.

Or just a sudden decision to get a train somewhere and book into a B&B for the night. It would inevitably include a few beers and fish and chips on a blowy sea front or river or lake. :)

Yes, it's the most basic of pleasures that give life meaning. A long walk with the dog in an open park, followed by a beer in a simple country pub beats a ride on the London Eye any day.

1. To hear a nightingale sing.
2. To visit the military cemeteries in France and Belgium where members of my family are buried, and also the Menin Gate (not in Britain, but still 'British').
3. To see Skara Brae.
4. To walk another ancestor's journey to Waterloo (see 2 above).
5. To spend some time in the North-East and visit Lindisfarne and Durham Cathedral.
6. To see the sights of Glasgow.
7. To take a train journey on the West Highland Line.
8. To visit all of William Marshal's castles (partially completed. Some are in France, but see 2 above).
9. To walk the Icknield Way.
10. To visit Waltham Abbey Church and pay my respects to the last Anglo-Saxon king.

I've done 15 on the DT list, although the only reason I've seen the Marathon live is because I used to live in a flat on the route. As a Londoner born and bred I'm not likely to go on a tourist bus ride.
