He also limited us to two cups of tea/coffee a day that could only be made at specific times.

Dearie me S.of S. I´ve been hanging out the loo roll the wrong way.I thought my faithful hound had had a sudden heart attack.Another daft regulation which I´m hoping one of you can give an explanation for was when I had to supply a multiplicity of paperwork to get my sparse belongings into the UK.I had to include my last electricity bill & also give a declaration that none of the contents of each carton,(each one had to be listed on both the top & side & the inventory given to the removal company to produce also at HM Customs)would be disposed of for the next 12 months. Here I did have to tell a little lie because I chucked in,at the last moment, the teabags I hadn´t used as the Spanish lady buyer of my property only drank coffee & wine.I am also thinking of binning the bright yellow shorts & flipflops as we have just had 2 days of weak sunshine & that MAY have been the Scottish summertime. Arriving into the UK,the removal man handed over the paperwork which should have meant he was allowed to proceed but all the drivers coming off the ferry from Santander were held back as Customs had not been told of the new regulation.Eventually my removal man was charged 150pounds Sterling as we do not now have a trade agreement with the EU..Later he told me that he has since been charged differently each time for 2 other similar size loads. He may give up coming into UK as each time he is delayed by Customs lack of knowledge over new details & cannot run his business properly regarding delivery date to his clients.I can understand the reason I had to get a written paper from the authorities to say that my ID for Spanish Residency had been cancelled but I didn´t realise that how much electricity I used was so important for a British Govn.department !
