Cream legbar anyone?
I appreciate this has the potential to be a "niche" thread but I've just discovered the existence of the cream legbar.
A chicken which lays blue eggs! http://greenfirefarms.com/wp-content...ar-egg-079.jpg Anybody got them? I want one! Also a silver campine please. |

I had to look them up. Yes, it does look like they lay the blue eggs too. Amazing I think. Would be great for Easter!
Thanks for the chicken links. :D I might look up all sorts of things on the preloved site. |

Re: Cream legbar anyone?
After we move to Devon in July, I'm planning to get a couple of chickens and keep them in an eglu. The eglus are quite pricey, but they are easy to clean and portable.
I haven't decided which breed yet. I might give a home to some ex-battery chickens, or get one of the ornamental breeds. The Cream Legbar is a bit dull looking. I think I'd prefer one of the laced bantam breeds because they are the prettiest. |
Re: Cream legbar anyone?
I would like a few of the rare breeds but really like the idea of including a couple of ex battery chickens in my "one day" chicken collection.
The battery hens have such a hard time it would be lovely to see them spend their final days pecking free range. |
